The Forum of Augustus (Rome)
The Forum of Augustus was built by the Emperor Augustus between the end of the 1st century B.C. and the beginning of the 1st century A.D. in a key position within the centre of Rome, near the Forum of Caesar and the Roman Forum.
The Forum of Augustus consists of a rectangular square dominated by the Temple of Mars Ultor, at the opposite side of the main entrance, and two porticos which delimit the other two sides of the complex.
Recent archaeological discoveries allowed an up-to-date virtual reconstruction of the whole Roman monument, realised by the DHILab of CNR-ISPC.

Proxy models of the reconstruction
How EM was used
For this project the Extended Matrix methodology was employed to track and manage the entire process of reconstruction — sources used, interpretive reasoning, and the resulting reliability of every node in the reconstruction graph.
